The War

In the midst of battle
A silent truth remains
It tells of futility
History full of stains
The dead and dying
Are an endless sea
Stretching far and wide
Their truth is piercing
That we cannot hide
Mans finest hour
Requires courage sevenfold
Awakening the spirit
Loves warmth to melt hates cold
I have seen the best in people
We can learn to live
Stewarding our planet
Our hearts each other give
Take each day for keeps
Press forward in hates fray
Pray deeply for others
To see the better day
Each of us is one more step
Two of us makes two
Its not exactly what
But exactly how you do
