The Power Of One

Here we are at the beginning of another year, a year that appears to be very uncertain.  The worlds economy is in crisis, the United States has a huge shift in leadership, and the ecosystem is in crisis.

✓    What do we do today?
✓    How do we prepare for tomorrow?
✓    Where should our priorities be?

We have many questions to ask ourselves, our leaders, and we must find answers.   The Earth is rapidly showing the signs of the abuse we are inflicting due to our runaway consumption.  It is time to give back while there is still time.  Recycle, reclaim, re-use, re-plant, repair, re-power, should be the battle cry of every person on the face of the Earth.  The Emperor did not have new clothes, and our world is far from manageable the way it is.

We are standing at the threshold of mans finest hour or the demise of a selfish species.  If we believe we can change the world we can.  It is knowledge that put us here with all of our many advancements, and it will be knowledge that will take us away from the destructive path we are on.  Considering how far we must go to repair all the issues many will not have the heart to push through the tough times.  That is when all leaders must be stronger than ever to shore up the damaged faith of man.  Man has always overcome obstacles to emerge triumphant even though everything appeared to be hopeless.

If you write, it is time to write with honor for the sake of all of us.  It is time to market a different way of living, a different government, a step forward towards principles that separate man from beast, and broadcast real solutions and hope to a world in need.  The society of lust, greed, consumption, and violence has a choice very much like the alcoholic who must stop drinking, that choice is change or else.

I did not vote for Barrack Obama as President of the United States, but somehow I believe he is the right person for the monumental task of uniting the people.  He and all of the other world leaders who balance the worlds fate will need more than our support,  not in words, but in action.  As for me I believe there is more good in the world than evil and with a unified effort the Human race will overcome the current daunting situation.

Yes I want to make money, have things, eat what I want, but I also realize it is time to accept responsibility for this crisis.  So my New Years Resolution is to live a little GREENER, do without blatant luxury, and give more to this world than I take if that is possible.  I will listen, be a good student, be a better teacher, and share what I have learned with those who need it.  I will not complain about the way things are and will actively take part in the changes I would like to see.  I will act locally and reach globally.  I will pray for my world, its people, and the brave people we have chosen to lead us.

Have a Happy and Productive New Year!!!!!
