Save the Internet Stop SOPA
This reminds me of the Emperors News clothes children’s story. Unfortunately, the problem doesn’t rest with this legislation, or any other faction for that matter but with the inability of people to control themselves.
The Internet is a thriving community not unlike a petri dish of bacteria where measures taken to kill off the so called bad bacteria will terminate the good as well. We the people need to shut down piracy, not the government the good bacteria need to consume the bad. However, as long as people are stealing and knowing the deal is too good to be true we will have the state attempting to remedy the situation with non sense like this.
The US has the largest debt in the world, the largest amount of regulations in the world, and the largest amount of lawyers per capita in the world. This legislation is just more monetization schemes from those who stand to profit from it, a legal system that is out of balance. They should hang their heads in shame over the hypocrisy of selling justice to the highest bidder.
Yes, the Emperor is naked. It is not the fault of those who are supplying the Koolaid here, but those who are stupid enough to keep drinking it. No one gets a free copy, or ridiculously reduced price on valuable products such as the Adobe Creative Suite, other software, or popular movies. If it is too good to be true it is, period. This all comes down to integrity of the citizens who are bathing in ill-gotten gain, and especially the legislators who pretend to protect the people from themselves, only to profit from the very evils they claim to oppose.
We don’t need more laws, we as a race need integrity from top to bottom for attrition to take its natural toll on societies negative influences. Part of that integrity is standing for something in the midst of opposition such as this plea to defeat another addition to a preposterously out of balance legal system.
